Ancient Cataclysms Axis tilting,

Dear Friend:

Some geological and archeological research into the past of GREENLAND shows
corresponding alterations. (Antipodes to Antarctica.)

Also consider the shifting of the Earth's axis, for which there is some
geological evidence. Have you ever discovered the books that Emanuel
Velikovsky wrote in the 1940's (WORLDS IN COLLISION, publisher Macmillan,
New York ) ? Google gives sources.

If you can access by Internet the INDEX to the SECRET DOCTRINE [THEOSOPHICAL
SOCIETY, Pasadena] you will find many important references to this. Its
worth a look.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Dallas, thanks for all that. What about
the theory that the continent of
Antarctica may have shifted on the
lithosphere (3 mile thick outer crust of
the globe) southward from a previously
far more northerly position where it was
shown in copies of ancient maps (which
in turn were copies of copies, etc,
apparently) to have been uncovered by
ice, showing rivers, mountains and
islands. The maps I'm referring to are:
Piri Reis, Oronteus Finaeus, Mercator,
Buache. Also, as might be well known,
evidence of trees have been discovered
under the ice in Antarctica. Apparently
the north pole used to be over the
Hudson's Bay area as recently as the Ice
Age, which meant that much of Antarctica
would have been temperate as the south
pole would have then been much farther
towards the Pacific side of the
continent. So I'm wondering if there
has been a series of southward shifts,
over hundreds of thousands or millions
of years (possibly along with tectonic
shifts) of the land masses now know as
Antarctica. Apparently there are
theories to the effect that the build-up
of ice in the poles triggers shifts of
various kinds. For more info on those
theories, see Graham Hancock's
FINGERPRINTS OF THE GODS.

Speculatively,
Mauri
