http://www.expressindia.com/fullstory.php?newsid=40255 I've long suspected that elephants, like cetaceans and primates, possess consciousness, not just cognition and emotion. Dolphins and a gorilla have been observed rescuing humans, but this is the first time I've seen a story about elephants doing so.
