I would perceive it as possible that a Master may accept an individual
as a Chela with the purpose of assisting in the preparation for that
individual's next incarnation, rather than a sole purpose of the the
present one. Leadbeater may have fit into this catagory. Perhaps
without the influence of Theosophy, Leadbeater would have been much
different on his handling of personal tendencies, as well as still been
an influence on others in the spiritual realm but would have been more
of a detriment to Theosophy. Reasons for actions and choices are not
always obvious or known. Questioning another's Wisdom for choices
made would seem different than judging or condemning them. A
Master's choice for a Chela can only be speculated if not revealed by
the Master.
