Re: Theos-World Christianity or not...

Sadly, no one can answer these questions except the Masters, we can only wonder why not reason why, and I guess it comes down to our faith in them, knowing that somehow, they knew what they were doing , if we cant accept this, or a reason for their choices, then we must search for Truth elsewhere.

Perhaps on the other hand CWL was a test for students to learn discrimination and not to accept willy nilly any teacher without questioning. Perhaps the Masters knew CWL was a bad apple but left him in the bowl so that other followers could discriminate between right and wrong behaviour of those many teachers out there. If this was the case, clearly Annie Besant failed the test.

This is the only explanation that makes sense to me.

I would perceive it as possible that a Master may accept an individual
as a Chela with the purpose of assisting in the preparation for that
individual's next incarnation, rather than a sole purpose of the the
present one. Leadbeater may have fit into this catagory. Perhaps
without the influence of Theosophy, Leadbeater would have been much
different on his handling of personal tendencies, as well as still been
an influence on others in the spiritual realm but would have been more
of a detriment to Theosophy. Reasons for actions and choices are not
always obvious or known. Questioning another's Wisdom for choices
made would seem different than judging or condemning them. A
Master's choice for a Chela can only be speculated if not revealed by
the Master.
