Dennis:

When I was working at Adyar I was invited, twice, to visit Australia
as a speaker for the TS, and while in Sydney I stayed at The Manor. So
I can give you some information about male bathroom facilities there.

There is only one male bathroom area, located on the ground floor, and
its size is about 8 by 8 metres, with three adjacent showers. I
understand that there was a large community of people living there at
that time, but I have no precise figures.

Regarding morning routine, I was fortunate in my visit to Auckland in
1994 to meet and talk to Mathias (Mat) van Thiel, who lived at The
Manor and was CWL's driver during his time there. He told me they
would get up around 6:00am, when he and others would get themselves
ready and prepare his breakfast, for invariably at 7:00am he had to
take CWL to Sydney to the printers as he was very meticulous and very
often did his own proofreading. Mat said he was very grateful for the
time he spent at The Manor.

In Krotona, Ojai, in 1983, I met Herre and Marie Vanderveen, who also
had been pupils of CWL at The Manor. They showed me an incredible
photo album of their years there, including photographs of the brand
new car that had been bought for The Manor community. There are two
photos of CWL next to it, looking apparently proud of the new
acquisition. Probably that was the car in which Mat used to drive him in.
