Re: Theos-World theosophy & politics

Need a little time to get my thoughts in order on this one. But I am sure that between us all we can come up with something.
One thing does spring to mind though and that is that there would need to be a Beginners Course, an Intermediate Course and an Advanced Course. All members being able to access all courses, but the more one goes into Theosophy the more one needs to have studied the threads and this takes time, as we all know.
What I enjoyed about attending the TS in Melbourne was that a Tutorial would be given and after the Tutorial, questions were directed to the lecturer to clarify uncertain points during the talk. More or less like Uni, the topic for the following week is stated, reference material is given to source that topic, and after the tutorial, the group is able to ask questions. For example, a tutorial on the etheric would also introduce where psychic healing originates from, etc etc. Most beginners need answers grounded in physical examples, to quote and requote theosophical literature can become a chore especially if meaning is not easily accessible. I am sure this can be done via a chat group and followed up by the members during the week through the study group. But that group agreeing to discuss only the topic on the agenda. One hour for the tutorial, one hour for the questions, only problem may be in timezones. Or the lecture could be posted with a follow up chat group for members.
Anyway, just a thought,
Cass

The Melbourne TS have or had some very good teachers and I was hoping to continue my study through networking, but alas. Most of the board members were over 50 at the time I was attending. Perhaps no one there had the technological skills to set up a study group on the www, but I doubt it, as I visited, Australia, UK, Ireland,Adyar and no groups.
