Dear Konstantin

In a talk with Dr David Bohm named "The Future of humanity", Krishnamurti says that brain is limited, and Mind is Universal. So, when Mind function through brain becomes limited. But, as he said, characteristics of Mind are Space and Silence, which is very similar to description of "Be-ness" from HPB. When you get that quietness that arises from deep attention (selfless attention) then mechanical movement of brain ending and unlimited Mind can work through brain more freely.
If you are interested in Krishnamurti's views about the Absolute, UniversalMind and brain consciousness read specially the dialogues with Dr David Bohm. There I find many concepts that have helped me understood some difficult passages of Secret Doctrine, in particular the Proem and first two Stanzas referring to these topics.

"For instance, he probably heard about life after death, but the fact
that he was so distressed by the death of his brother proves that he
had only theoretical knowledge, if he had any".

His distress was not death of his brother itself but because he believed that Masters couldn't his brother to die (as Leadbeater said him) but he diedindeed (Moreover, Krishnamurti usually saw his died mother because he was a bit clairvoyant).
It could be a Leadbeater mistake or a test for young Krishnamurti. In fact, after he received that new (after some days of suffering), he said "I havewon to death." You know Mahatmas methods (at least as they are described un the Mahatmas letters and others writings like that). In many times they ordered to Blavatsky "to generate a disappointed situation in order to provetrue interest of someone in the occultism."
Obviously, all this could simply be a Leadbeater mistake, but other possibility cannot be discarded, and it is consistent whit many other facts.

"Whatever he have taught, he was materialistic inside, even then".

Himself discusses this topic in a dialogue with Pupul Jayakar. I haven't English title here, but if you want it I can find it. He said that refuse to talk about of beyond-brain-comprehension things because people always talk about it without actual knowledge and, talking about it, they believe that know all that. So, Krishnamurti tried told how actually to perceive that ina non-conceptual way. If he had success is another topic.

"Human beings, out of their fear, invented god. And they tried to reach god, which is the ultimate principle, in India it is called Brahman, the ultimate principle". (Krishnamurti on meditation)

Don't you agree with that statement? I think people make Gods to their image, and before that they are unable to perceive true "Divinity". Mahatma KH talks about it in some of his letter to Sinnett. Krishnamurti are not refusing existence of "That" but thought created gods, which prevent actual perception.

"Through close attention to and observation of this activity of thought, Krishnamurti feels that he directly perceives that thought is a material process, which is going on inside of the human being in the brain and nervous system as a whole"

So HPB told the same (in my words): "The higher self doesn't think, but knows trough a intuitive process. Thought is material and brain process can only give a terrestrial perception". I have the English quotes in another place, but if you don't remember these quotes I can look for it. Just ask it.
This is not an attempt to defend Krishnamurti, but I think there are a lot of misconceptions around his work. May be that was produced by prejudices, or an incomplete study of his writings, I don't know.

Sincerely

Pablo
