Finger pointing (reply to Morten)

Hi Sufilight,

You must be reading my mind or vice-versa :) because I was just
thinking that deploring other people's interest in a subject is a
way of having one's caking and eating it too. That is, focusing on
the same topic while posturing as if above it all. Which reminds me
of the line about one finger pointing at someone else while the rest
of the fingers point back at oneself.

Not that I question anyone's sincerity about wishing that the
subject would be dropped. But there is something so blatantly
counterproductive about *expressing* that wish ("don't picture a
pink elephant!") that one must wonder about the deeper dynamics.
The meme "CWL's misdeeds are of huge importance" gets spread just as
effectively by Radha's dogmatic denials as by Perry's questioning.
The meme doesn't care how it is spread or by whom.

Resistance can sometimes only feed what is being resisted. For
example, no one here much seems interested in HPB's sex life, was
she Yuri's mother and if so who was the father, was the Betanelly
marriage one of passion as suggested by Meade, etc. But if people
started loudly insisting that IT IS NOT IMPORTANT AND NO ONE OUGHT
TO BE DISCUSSING IT SO STOP SAYING THAT you can be sure it would
become as absorbing as the CWL topic has been.

Except of course for the fact that whatever HPB did or did not do in
her youth caused no harm to the Theosophical movement, whereas the
harm done by CWL has been vividly apparent for almost 100 years now.
