Dear L R and Friends:

Thanks for the good thoughts.

Lovely and useful.

Made me think of present duties:

I phrased it as: --

Don't all grades of intelligence indicate the stages at which the eternal
monad progresses?

For each of us, it is a vast pilgrimage where time looses its urgency. No?

But responsibility drives us on.

We all have to find the INNER GURU. To me THAT is the true and only object
of a true devotion whereby the personality regenerates itself. How else
does the "lower-self-mind" which is a part of the ETERNAL MONAD
(Atma-Buddhi-Manas) return to its SOURCE after having done its "job?"

But the help of the "outer" Guru is also needed as a friend, whose presence
proves illumination can be attained. And this need no always be a physical
"Presence" either I think.

And, what is the job of our "lower-self"? And, how best to do it ?

How do we hold up a mirror, fearlessly, to ones SELF ?

About TV - how very true - but even it has a good educative use. Everything
in moderation ?

All good thoughts to you, and

Best wishes,

Dallas

Subject: Speaking to the simple

Dallas touched on the question of promulgating Truth to the simple; that it
is possible. I have found lately that when I speak of reincarnation, some
people say, perhaps jokingly, "I hope I don't come back as a dog or a cat,"
or other creature inferior to man. He also mentioned that, in a plane far
higher than ours, a being may wish to, and become a Deva.

But subject to the laws of Karma, the Deva eventually will have to "start
again" at a lower rung. So is it possible for a human to "come back as a dog
or a cat," insect or whatever the case may be? Dallas, thanks for helping us
find a way to minister to the masses. Many, at first glance anyway, appear
to be morons addicted to television and the silly culture it promotes.

In my travels I met a man who had something to say about television. I was
in the mountains looking for serenity. The man and his little son walked
into the modest cabin I had rented. As he brought in some firewood, he
looked at me strangely and asked, "Do you know what the greatest enemy of
humanity is?" I sensed he was going to say something important. He did.
"Television." He also said that one should learn to put one's full attention
on the task at hand.

All the Best,

L.R.
