I believe it's okay to eat meat as long as none is wasted. Justifying
this argument with, "other animals eat flesh" is not sufficient, since
other animals sometimes do other things that we could consider morally
outrageous (e.g., some animals cannibalize each other, or eat each
other's young).

However, you can't stop people from eating meat as people have their
own will, and not eating it is just going to make it go to waste (like
when PETA members throw red paint on animal furs, which now means the
animals have died in vain).

So I think it's one's own business whether or not they choose to. I
for one do eat meat, and I don't think that would make me morally
reprehensible for doing so. However, if people weren't mass murdering
animals to begin with I'd probably change my opinion.
