The story goes, there were two tomatoes, who got a phone call from the hospital as there son had been run over by a truck. They rushed to the hospital and anxiously asked the doctor as he came out of the operating theatre of their son's condition, The doctor exhaustedly informed them" He's alive!, but...he'll be a vegetable for the rest of his life!!!"

I was a veg for many years, just the smell of flesh burning used

child
what it wanted.

It'd been so many years, it tasted so good, and I remember as I
thought about it I began to realize that I had not really given
the
matter much depth of thought, I'd just made the restriction, like
it
was an emotional rationalization.

For instance, let's look at shellfish like oysters/mussels and
shrimp - there's an olde saying somewhere about the red blood of
a
soul pumping through an animal's veins -but- (oysters, mussels,
shrimp) have no red blood -so- just because they're animate does
that make 'em animals? What if there are lots of animate veg
forms
that classified animals simply because they move? That what if
leads me to wonder ifn we've still much research to do upon
classification.

So, really, then we're down to splitting hairs - "oh, I can eat,
oysters and clams and and and (+insects) but not...." so on, so
forth, it's ridiculous.

"Oh, oh, I think it moved."

"Well, we can't eat that then."

Huh.

Further, ifn there are animate veg life forms then clearly (and
yet
again) the vegetable kingdom is every bit as worthy of our
respect,
our understanding and appreciation as the animal kingdom.

And what's the diff between blood and chlorophyll, something like a
mol (of iron, of magn.) - really, it's an interesting subject, and
it may be that folks zero in on this/that issue because there's yet
more groovy things to be learning. Energy's like that, it buzzes
around -and- just like a moth it heads right for those lights.

And I think also that our material current currently being built
with its recycle button very much suggests that noteating aint
stopping a thing - basically, it's -what- refusing to help with
the
recycling.

I, of course, object very much to (alot of the 'industry) how
animals are raised/housed, slaughtered, cared about or understood -
but- honestly, I feel kinda good ("just around supper time,")
about
being in awe and appreciation of my meal.
