This is not widely known. In clinical terms of physical/mental
addiction, you cannot become addicted unless you develop a tolerance
to something.

In essence, one must become more tolerant to something in order to
become addicted. In the sense of alchohol, you will need more to
acquire the same feeling. Meat does not do this; hence you really
can't call it an addiction. It's more of a habit.

I'm just playing devil's advocate.
