I think if messages are meaningful or humorous, then there should not 
be problem even if they are short in size and large in number like chat-
room. 
In chatting there are too many spelling and other mistakes which are 
horrible to read. 
But if we write well then this type of yahoo group is good for fast and 
short messages.
Also there may be some messages short but we do send long messages. So 
one yahoo group serves both purposes. Otherwise also I see tendency 
among members to use this group for both, short and long messages.
