Confusion with understanding Judge: LEON/DALLAS

Hi Dallas,
Have started reading The Ocean of Theosophy in regard to the terms. I have found a few anomolies which I need sorted.

"The astral body is the guiding model for the physical one,

and all the Other kingdoms have the same astral model.

Cass: He then seems to contradict himself when he says in the same

paragraph:Vegetables, minerals, and animals have the ethereal double,

that this theory is the only one which will answer the questions

how it is that the seed produces its own kind and all sentient

beings bring forth their like." OCEAN 39-40

Then on Page 49 he says, The astral model is common to men and animals?

2nd Query:

On Page 47 he quotes, "the ethereal counterpart of our physical

person": Why not call it the design body/astral?

3rd Query:

On Page 49, "the God within begins with Manas or Mind, and it is the

struggle between this God and the Brute which Theosophy speaks of and

warns about. Then he goes on to say, we cannot rise unless SELF

(presumably he is talking about Manas or Mind) first asserts itself

in the desire to do better, which he calls RAJAS. "In this aspect it is

called Rajas or the active and bad ? quality as distinguished from,

LAMAS, or the quality of darkness and indifference.

Can you clarify my misunderstanding of the above?

Thanks

Cass
