abortion

There is a book out, called Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything. It is reviewed in the May 14 Economist. The book is written by a professor of economist at the University of Chicago and a coauthor who is a contributor to the New York Times magazine. One of the topics discussed in the book was why the crime rate dropped during the 1990's. While some of the reasons given by people were partially correct, the biggest reason, he discovered, was abortion. Especially affected were the unmarried, teenage or poor and sometimes all three. He tested his theory and it was generally born out.

While outside of Theosophy circles many people believe in the blank slate theory, stories like this do not bear this out. In the literature of occult schools, such as spiritualists, most believe that abortion is a sin. In light of this, I was wondering you believe.
