Sin, an invention to scare the hell out of gullible masses.
And it has worked for centuries. I am reminded of the scene in Chaplin's
Monseiur Verdeaux - a post WWII movie - where he comments to a Padri that
the Padri would not have a job but for all the sins people are made to
believe in.

Sin is spiritual wrongdoing. There is no such thing as spiritual wrongdoing
therefore sin cannot exist.
