Re: Theos-World RE: The force of prejudice

“Union does indeed imply a concentration of vital and magnetic force against the hostile currents of prejudice and fanaticism.” ML. Letter n. 15 K.H.

I think every effort to promote "theosophy" is valid. Also I can't deny thecontribution that many followers of Blavatsky tradition are giving. But I can't stand the prejudice many Blavatsky followers express towards others theosophists writers. The great dugpa rests within the minds unable to express compassion for its fellows and shadowed by prejudice.

"In the name, then, of logic and common sense, before bandying epithets, let us submit our differences to the arbitrament of reason. Let us compare all things, and, putting aside emotionalism and prejudice as unworthy of thelogician and the experimentalist, hold fast only to that which passes the ordeal of ultimate analysis.

H.P.BLAVATSKY.

“Occult truth cannot be absorbed by a mind that is filled with preconception, prejudice, or suspicion. It is something to be perceived by the intuition rather than by the reason; being by nature spiritual, not material.” Lodges of Magic C.W.

…This and many other similar instances bring out with the utmost clearness the right of the Theosophical Society to fair and impartial hearing; as also the fact that of all the now existing “isms” and “ists,” our organization is the only body entirely and absolutely free from all intolerance, dogmatism, and prejudice… H.P.B. The force of prejudice

Dear Erica:

As I recall, there is an old saying that goes as follows:

"He drew a circle that shut me out !

But I, the lover of all,

Drew a vaster circle

That included him in.

Best wishes.

Well that is a very nice quote! "We are brothers to all beings and our
common goal is WISDOM and PERFECTION".

I think you forgot to mention that "we are all brothers to all beings" since
they are not connected to Adyar. We may not post in forums owned by Adyar
theosophists, we may post only in forums owned by fellows connected to
Blavatsky tradition.

Dear Doss:

That says it all and goes for me too.

I then consider it a part of my duty to make others aware of this wonderful
science and logic of self-improvement.

Look at what it eliminates:

1 Fear is eliminated. As immortal spirit/souls we do not need
priests.

2 "Luck" and "chance" are eliminated. As free choosers we get rid of
them. We receive what we have deserved. Karma handles all justly and
fairly.

3 We make our own future condition, be it a "heaven" or a "hell."
And we can always change those conditions by changing our motives.

4 God is NATURE (or the UNIVERSE) as a whole. It is eternal. We are
immortal parts of IT. We have always shared in IT, and IT is always present
in us. The closest

6 We cannot hide any of our actions or motives. We can never take
advantage of ot! hers. If we do selfish things we only punish ourselves in
the
future.

7 We are brothers to all beings and our common goal is WISDOM and
PERFECTION. The "life-atoms" (Monads) and the Mahatmas are both our
brothers

Best wishes,

Dallas

Looking at all the various messages we have seen, you have hit the nail on
its head as it is figuratively said. To me, leaving aside all personalities
and all the questions about the fine points about the discrepancies in the
literature, the fact is that modern thosophy has survived for over 100
years. It has provided a comprehensive "hypothesis" about the universe and
man/woman.

Another question I frequently ask myself is - am I a better person today
because of my exposure to theosophy and has it helpe! d me in my
understanding of myself and the world around me?

If the answer is YES, then that is what is more important to me than
anything else.

And my gratitude goes to everyone from HPB onwards who have worked and
sacrificed to popularize theosophy to the world. As they say, I think it is
important to walk the walk as much as talk the talk.
