I suspect that you are not very experiensed in meditation.
Tibetans know too well that we shouldn't overstrain ourselves
and repress thoughts by brute force when we meditate.
Jampa Tinley, who was sent by Dalai Lama to Moscow to found
a Gelug-pa center, wrote:

"When you shall meditate, don't do it long. Try to meditate
two minutes or so, not more. Then take some rest, relax,
look at the image of the Buddha. Don't sit too long. There
can various fancies begin to raise in your head, and in may
damage your mental health. Many people think that if they
lit inmeditation for long, they become masters of meditation.
It's a false idea. They simply don't know how to learn to
