There is an evidence (though it is a second hand evidence for no one 
of us has seen the documents) and there can be many theories 
explaining why the documents say so.

The point that CWL gave a wrond date is a CONCLUSION, not the fact 
itself.
The fact, if it is a fact at all, gives space for several theories.
