Hi Bart
I thought the "shock and awe" campaign was about quick recovery and minimum loss of life,(american). I was surprised to read that there was a 5 month preparation as this suggests that the US was planning this attack prior to or during the WMD fiasco. Please correct me if I am wrong.

First of all, if the United States had done THAT, there would have been
a lot fewer American deaths. Most of the American deaths have come
because the United States has been trying to get rid of the Hussein
regime with minimal loss of Iraqi life.

Second of all, it took about 5 MONTHS of preparation before the Iraq
invasion.
