Bruce, thank you for your perspective.

Below is another perspective which also has its own merit. This perspective was written by a friend and brother, who has given me permission to post it.

----------------------------------------------

A Three-Fold Path To Wisdom

Seek Truth - Search for that which is true. Not only the truth in which you see, but the truth that others see. This
entails many perspectives. Use an eye that is open, an ear that is open. In keeping yours open, you will
also be open to the eye and ear of others. This allows for a greater range of truth to be recognized.
Speak truth. In seeing, hearing, and speaking truth, you will touch upon the truth in it's fulness.
If one were to see a shirt that is seen to be blue, and another says it is not blue; seek to find the truth in the
other's statement. If you can not see it, do not say "What you say is false", but instead, say "I do not see
the truth in what you say". The latter response is a truer statement. The other, who said the shirt is not
blue, could be seeing a truth also. He could be colorblind. Or he could be thinking that the shirt is reflecting
blue light, giving it a blue appearance, while in actuality, the shirt is every color but blue. Blue is the only
color the shirt is not, for every color is absorbed into it except that which is reflected and taken in by
the eye. There is truth in all things. Only by seeking the truth in all things, can you see the truth in all things.
This is the sincere seeker of truth.
Seek not for what is false, for then you will be a seeker of that which is false. Your focus will be in the
opposite direction of truth. You will become a knower of falsehoods instead of a knower of truth. Falsehoods
will overshadow truth, instead of truth overshadowing falsehoods.
Seek Positivity - Search for that which is positive. Not only the positive you see, but the positive others see. This
entails many perspectives. Use an eye that is open, an ear that is open. In keeping yours open, you
will also be open to the eye and ear of others. This allows for a greater range of positivity to be recognized.
Speak positive. In seeing, hearing, and speaking the positive, you will touch upon the positive in it's fulness.
If you see one in a wheelchair, and another says " That is terrible that one should go through life in such a
manner." Do not say "Yes, that is terrible." Respond with a positive approach. It could be the balancing of
karma, or the individual in the wheelchair having written a book about overcoming handicaps that had
helped thousands. Stating whatever positive aspect that is known through self, or from another, fortifies
the postivity of the other's experience. Expressing the positive shares the positive. This is also true with self
and self experience. The more one can see the positive in one's own life's events, the more one can see it in
others. A positive attitude promotes positivity. It has an impact upon others besides one's own self. There is
the positve in all things. Only by seeking the positve in all things, can you see the positive in all things.
This is the sincere seeker of positivity.
Seek not for what is negative, for then you will be a seeker of that which is negative. Your focus will be in
in the opposite direction of the positive. You will be a promoter of negativity, instead of a promoter of
positivity. Negativity will overshadow positivity, instead of positivity overshadowing negativity.

Seek Acceptance - Search for that which is acceptance. Not only the acceptance you see, but the acceptance others
see. This entails many perspectives. Use an eye that is open, an ear that is open. In keeping yours open,
you will also be open to the eye and ear of others. This allows for a greater range of acceptance to be
recognized. Speak with acceptance. In seeing, hearing, and speaking with acceptance, you will touch upon
acceptance in it's fulness. Acceptance brings forth understanding. One can not understand what one does
not accept. Acceptance is a non- judgemental response.
If one were to say to you "That person is a liar.", accept what is said (without judgement). Let your
response be one of truth and positivity, but accept the other's opinion. With acceptance, there are
no conflicts. If two accept each other's statement (that are different), then it will be a sharing of thoughts
and not an argument. In the acceptance of the other's statements, comes forth the understanding of them.
One does not have to agree, to understand. The different viewpoints are shared without conflict arising.
Accept others. Be non-judgemental. The acceptance of others, brings forth an understanding of others.
Acceptance comes prior to understanding. Acceptance also allows one to be whole. All is part of the whole.
Any part that is rejected means being less than whole. Acceptance does not mean no attempt at change.
If an act of greed or violence is occuring, one can attempt to change it. But it is done without the judging of
the other. If one is speaking to others in the manner of deceiving them, one can attempt to change it. But
it is done without the judging of the other. The act of greed can be accepted (as in acknowledged), and
an attempt made to change it, and no judgement placed upon it or the person. In an example of a storm :
Persons do not prefer the destructive acts of a storm, and precautions are made to prevent harm from being
done. But the storm is not judged. It is accepted as part of nature, as a part of life. This form of acceptance,
without judgement, can be applied to persons as well. Accept the storm that can be internal. Accept and
work with it, whether it is within self or other. Do this without judgement. Do this without rejection. Accept "new" or "different" ideas. Acceptance is a seed for growth. A seed can not grow if it is not
accepted. Acceptance does not mean agreement. One can accept another's view without agreeing with it.
Although the view is not agreed with, it also need not be rejected. Accept all as a possiblity, understand all as
a possibilty, for all has a place and purpose. Accept the purpose of all, understand the purpose of all. Only by
seeking the acceptance of all things, can you see the acceptance in all things.
That which rejects, separates. That which accepts, unites. Be that which unites, not separates.
This is the sincere seeker of acceptance.
Seek not for what is rejection. for then you will be a seeker of rejection. Your focus will be in the opposite
direction of acceptance. You will be the encourager of separation, instead of unification. Rejection will
overshadow acceptance, instead of acceptance overshadowing rejection.

You intake that in which you search for, that in which you seek. If you seek falsehoods, negativity, and rejection; then
that will be what you intake and it will define your being. If you seek truth, positivity, and acceptance; then that will be
what you intake and it will define your being. Truth, positivity and acceptance lead to Wisdom in it's fullest expression.
