"Allegations" is akin to "claims"-- a smear word misrepresenting the 
phenomenon so labelled.  And "simply lying" is hardly what I 
conclude, more like "simply using blinds to conceal sensitive 
information."

Worse according to your personal measure of values.  According to 
mine, the value of HPB's writings does not depend on her having told 
the complete truth about her sources.  If she disguised her sources, 
that has little or no impact on the value of her writings which 
nevertheless drew on information learned from genuine teachers.  If 
CWL imagined his sources, that totally undermines the value of his 
writings, which claimed to describe nonexistent beings.
