Hallo Erica and all,

My views are:

Alright, I think I understand your view.
But try to read the last item in the same link as well.

This is the link.
Try to read the following e-mail I posted in 2002 here at Theos-talk:
http://theosophy.com/theos-talk/200206/tt00024.html

This is the last item in that link.
"10. It will deal with everyone according to capacity and character,
being neither benevolent nor the reverse: for kindness and cruelty,
while effective and understood in ordinary relationships, operate as
part of a conditioning system within a teaching or group situation."

When one can't laugh at a joke, that is one issue.
When one doesn't like the joke because of the motive or energy behind it, that is another issue.

Talking about jokes and jokes it is interesting to remind you Sufilight that sometime ago a joke I posted a joke in the group and you did not liked it, and expressed your view. Does that means:

" ix) Inability to laugh at things which appear funny to people outside the "path"?

Many theosophists connected or not to Adyar have a feeling of reverence to the Mahatmas, consequently many may not enjoy jokes about them.

This for some must be funny, for other ridiculous, for others fundamentalism, I would say this is just a natural human reaction towards something they consider sacred. Sometimes it is nice to have a bit of modesty, and say all right I am sorry I did not mean to offend!

Hallo Carlos,

My views:

We Seeker and Guardians of Knowledge do not always agree with what others

A minor exerpt - here item 9 - tells us a bit about what a spurious
theosophical school
looks like.
It says the following:
"ix) Inability to laugh at things which appear funny to people outside
the "path";"

Another is item twelve:
"xii) "Teachers" who are themselves ignorant."

Else you will have to tell me more about what you have to offer before I
will agree
with you on your view.
It is always the motive with the actions, which are important, and not so
much,
what we call - assumtions.

Dear Sufilight,

If you make jokes with the names of the Masters,
I might make jokes with the Prophet,
yet I somewaht prefer keeping jokes away
from Masters names and from the Prophet's name.

Deal?

Carlos.
