Let me add my 0.02.

I have been around theosophy and theosophyical organizations for several
decades. In spite of everyone professing to be at least in sympathy with the
three objects, as far as members belonging to lodges/centers of one
organisation or other are concerned, they rarely talk to each other.

This and other unmoderated maillists are the only places where theosophists
belonging to all organizations as well as belonging to none, participate and
exchange ideas and discuss issues. However, from time to time you will find
individuals with very strong opinions express them here which many may find
it very irritating when it is repetitious. Over a period one gets used to
them and many treat them as noise which is ignored. Since there is no other
alternative place to discuss our opinions and ideas, I think, in spite of
all the short comings, I think we need to continue to participate.

One more thing -- we have seen in the past new participants with very strong
views dont last long. They sign off and are gone.

A thick skin and patience are very helpful here.
