I am confused about Jesus. HPB places Jesus as a historical fact, yet also
says, if he in fact existed? A Rosicrucian friend of mind believes that
Apollonius of Tyana was the true world teacher, and believes that Jesus, the
Carpenter is a fiction of the gnostics.

Our evidence for Jesus living is about as good as our evidence for just
about anyone else in the ancient world except for those few important enough in
their lifetime to have a sculpture done of them with their name on it, so we
can pretty much reject the idea that he did not exist while rejecting some of
the more preposterous stories, like virgins having babies and people not
staying dead.

Now, as to his actual teachings, and any value those teachings may have, we
can fight about them until the cows come home.
