NO NEED TO BE STUCK IN THE 1880s

Dear Friends,

Below we have once more a recurrent text on narrow historical technicalities.

Yet our movement and our minds can go ahead. We can well follow HPB's actions, her example.

She was open to look at long times past, at long times future, and at at her present day and its challenges which faced mankind.

The theosophical movement is able to look above its own navel and care for mankind also in this 21st century.

It does not have to be obsessed by the same old little questions. It can recognize that its slanderers' do not deserve too much publicity.

Do we have a co-responsibility for the state of the world? Are we conscious of it?

If we do not think of manking as a whole, who will think? Are "Greenpeace", "Friends of the Earth" and "World GoodWill" enough?

Best regards, Carlos.

>
> I laughed aloud at the absurdity and flung the Report aside with the

>
> The next day saw me at the Theosophical Publishing Company's office

>
> On receiving my diploma I betook myself to Lansdowne Road, where I

> "You have joined the Society?" "Yes."
>
> "You have read the report?" "Yes." "Well?"
>
> I knelt down before her and clasped her hands in mine, looking

>
> "My answer is, will you accept me as your pupil, and give me the
> honour of proclaiming you my teacher in the face of the world?"
>
> Her stern, set face softened, the unwonted gleam of tears sprang to
> her eyes; then, with a dignity more than regal, she placed her hand
