Daniel,
Thanks for your efforts and continued dedication of placing Theosophical
contents to members of this Forum for their use and benefit. Well, I am not
much inclined to reply on this topic as I think it is a situation of "Seek and
you shall find" and "Knock and the door shall be opened unto you." But I will
say this, there is a long antiquitous spectrum of teaching about the cultivation
of imaginative visualization power that is also major contributor as one
advances. For instance Nirmanakaya can have several forms of presentment. Physical
is only one form. There are Nirmanakaya that are not in current utilization
of a physical form instead they have existence of the nonphysical realm. The
Mahatma projects the self cultivated presentment for the benefit of the minds of
those who are receptor of the same. To do so requires successful Adept
ability that they grew from the seed to the full ability. In the Tibetan teaching
they visualize the Sanskrit "A" (or Tibetan, or in Native Language character) as
exorcise to cultivate mindful awareness, control of the monkey, the "inflow
and outflow" of presentments generated. All are perfected abilities of Adepts
without which they would not progress.

In the Yoga the Heart Chakra "Anahata" is described:

"The fourth of the cakras. It is situated in the heart and has twelve
petals designated by the (Sanskrit letters) k, kh, g, gh, n, c, ch, j, jh, n, t,
th. It's colour is deep blood red; it has the seed of Vayu (yam) and is a very
pleasant spot. In this Lotus is a flame called Banalinga by contemplating on
which one gets objects of the seen and unseen universe. It's presiding adept is
Pinaki, and Kakini is it's Goddess. One who always contemplates on this lotus
of the heart is eagerly desired by the celestial maidens. He gets immeasurable
knowledge, knows the past, present, and future; has clairaudience,
clairvoyance and can walk in the air whenever he likes. He sees the adepts and the
goddesses known as Yoginis, obtains powers known as Khecara, and conquers all who
move in the air. He who contemplates the hidden Bana-linga, undoubtedly obtains
the psychic powers called Kehcara (moving in the air) and Bhucari (going at
will all over the world.) (Ss. V. 83-89)

According to Sn. : In the heart is situated this charming Lotus shining
as the color of the Bandhuka flower (Pentapoetes Phoenicia) Here twelve letters
beginning with "Ka" of the colour of vermillion are placed on it's petals. It
is known by it's name of Anahata, and is like a celestial wishing tree
(Kalpataru : one of the celestial tree's of Indra's heaven, which grants what is
asked ) bestowing even more than the supplicants desire --- that is, grants
Moksa. The region of the Vayu, beautiful and with it's six corners (of interesting
triangles, see Rudrayamala XXVII. 64) , of which is like unto smoke in colour,
is here. One should meditate within it the sweet and excellent Pavana Bija
(Yam) (seed of Vayu), grey as a mass of smoke, with four arms, and seated on a
black antelope. And within it also should be meditated the Abode of Mercy, the
Stainless Lord who is lustrous like the sun, and whose two hands make the
gesture which grants boons and dispels fear of the three worlds. Herein the Lotus
dwells Kakini, who in color is yellow like unto new lightning, exhilarated and
auspicious, three-eyed and the benefactress of all. she wears the noose and
the skull and makes the sign of blessing ---- the sign which dispels fear. Her
heart is softened with the drinking of nectar. The Sakti whose tender body is
like ten million flashes of lightning, is in the pericarp of this lotus in the
form of a triangle (Trikona). Inside the triangle is the Siva-Linga known by
the name of Bana. This Linga is like the shining gold and on his head is an
orifice minute as that in a gem. He is the resplendent abode of Laksmi. He who
meditates on this Heart Lotus (Hrdayacakra) becomes like the Lord of Speech.
Like Isvara he is able to protect and destroy the worlds. This Lotus is like the
celestial wishing tree (Kalpataru) the abode and seat of Sarva. It is
beautified by the Hamsa which is like the steady tapering flame of a lamp in a
windless place. The filaments which surround and adorn it's pericarp illuminated by
the solar region, charm. One who meditates upon this lotus becomes foremost
among Yogis. He is ever dearer than the dearest to women. He is pre-eminently
wise and full of noble deeds. His senses are completely under control. His mind
in it's intense concentration is engrossed in thoughts of Brahman. His
inspired speech flows like a stream of water. He is like the God (Vishnu) who is
beloved of laksmi; and he is able at will to enter another's body. (Sn. ver. 22-27
Lys. p. 48 et. seq)
