Re: Our imagination

Dear Mr. Mohanty,
You write regarding 'our imagination' and wonder 'how the imagination
is created and wherefrom it comes'.
As you may know, due to our essential interconnectedness, thoughts can move
from one vehicle to another transiently, causing as you say our 'mind to get swayed
from one thought to the other'. Truly our thoughts are not our own until we own
them. This is certainly the case in the untrained mind.
Taking control of the mind is the only path that will take us out of this state - this
pattern of Kama-manas trying to ensnare us to secure its own survival! Thus bringing,
as you said, pleasure and pain to us ...energizing our focus in the individual personality.
This IS our goal at this stage of our evolution. To understand the nature of Dharana.
As it states on page one of the Voice of the Silence;
"The Mind is the great Slayer of the Real.
Let the Disciple slay the Slayer."
Although this is the hardest task we can 'imagine' taking on, we are very fortunate
to have such Theosophical tools as given to us in the Voice of the Silence and indeed
the Bhagavad-Gita and other such offerings of the ancient wisdom.
Let us use them wisely and selflessly.
Regards,
Nigel
