Re: Theos-World Apologies to Adelasie

Carlos,

No need to apologize to me. You are entitled to your opinion in this
and all matters, as are we all.

It would seem a bit arrogant to me to compare onesself to HPB. She
did what the Masters told her to do. She was a high adept with a very
special and thankless job. She functioned from a position of
selflessness and altruism that is quite incomprehensible to most of
us students. Her task was herculean and none of us is of her level of
development. She did not attack her fellow seekers, even when they
attacked her. We can learn a lot from her exemplary life, but we need
not start thinking that we are her. We have a long way to go before
we will be entrusted with a task such as hers.

She said, "In the last analysis, occultism is altruism, pure and
simple." Altruism can be stated as the Golden Rule of Christianity,
"Do unto others as you would they do unto you." This is a good test
for any planned action or speech. Is what we are about to say or do
or even think what we would like others to say or do or think to or
about us? Simple. No need for right or left brain analysis. Just an
honest human response. We could spend many lifetimes practicing this
one simple thing and still not reach the level of development of HPB.
