Question (3) from Tillett's List on ULT/DES

Gregory Tillett writes:

"(3) does a DES, associated with the ULT or some or any of its
members, exist? Does it claim to be a successor of or to possess any
continuity with or authority from HPB's ES? If so, on the basis of
what authority does it make this claim?"

Does a Dzyan Esoteric School exist?

Years ago when first doing inquiries about this, many ULT associates
I asked said: "NO."

Not all; a few actually admitted that there was such an organization.

One well-known, high profile ULT Theosophist swears to this day on
the Bhagavad-Gita that there is no such organization!

But when several demanded proof of my assertion that there actually
was such an organization and I showed them some of the DES documents,
well, they were for the most part strangely silent.

One turned almost red and said "but I have been an associate for many
years and no one ever told me."

One Judge student who had been a ULT associate said he was given
hints about such a school by an ULT official but never told flatout
that there is such a school.

This raises the question as to why HPB published in LUCIFER that
there was such a Esoteric Section and even writes about it in THE KEY
TO THEOSOPHY but for some reason(s) ULT/DES "officials" feel the need
to, in effect, HIDE the school and make it a SECRET.

I'm wondering if maybe some of the remarks in the KH 1900 letter are
relevant to the Dzyan Esoteric School.

For example:

==========================================================
The best corrective of error is an honest and open-minded examination
of all facts subjective and objective.

MISLEADING SECRECY HAS GIVEN THE DEATH BLOW TO NUMEROUS
ORGANIZATIONS.
===========================================================

But it is interesting that on Theos-Talk Carlos although he doesn't
write about the DES, he does NOT deny the existence of the DES.

And Carl (not to be confused with Carlos!) has confirmed the
existence of the DES and says that he knows some of the participants,
etc.

I know of several caches of Crosbie papers and letters. Even ------ -
------ [a fairly well known ULT Theosophist] has told me of primary
source letters that would throw a light on why Crosbie left Pt. Loma.
I'm sure in future years some of this material will be published and
therefore available in the public domain and probably on the Internet.
