Daniel and the Dead Letter

Daniel,

Thanks.

It does not seem too modest of you to make statements about what "everyone cares" or "everyone does not care" in Theos-talk. Speak for yourself, please. For some here, going beyond the dead letter may be important. I invite you to avoid unnecessary generalizations about what people believe or think.

You write:

"BTW, do you approve of Boris de Zirkoff reprinting the ES Instructions in Volume 12 of THE COLLECTED WRITINGS."

I see no need to approve or disapprove of it. And I was talking especially about the Internet.

Yet I don't consider it a big deal having the Esoteric Papers published at the word-level, even in the Internet. It is not the secrecy of the words that turns something esoteric -- it is the lvel of conscious at which it is considered. Please calmly think about this previous sentence.

My main point is -- that having the outer wording is not having the right viewpoints and keys to understand the content of the writings -- a content which has several levels and layers of meaning.

I will give you an example.

You have Plato's Dialogues published today. Yet if you do not have a cultural/philosophical horizon broad enough to really look at them; if you do not have the right background in esoteric philosophy, etc., you will probably not understand much of their content. The same with HPB.

Is the example clear? You have HPB published, including her "Esoteric Papers" (now rather "Exoteric").

But who has the deep view, the clear method, the inner sight, the "insight" to understand and to live those teachings? With what seriously committed friends of truth will you endeavour to understand her texts, "esoteric" or otherwise?

For instance, Daniel -- do you try to live by those teachings? And by HPB's Esoteric Philosophy? Please, understand me, no need to answer here -- this question is suggested for a dialogue in your own conscience. This comes to my mind as this is a question I regularly pose to myself ( we can always improve things).

Perhaps in future you will open more room in your sites -- not for dissent and 'conflicting personal views' but for stimulating people to live Theosophy instead.

That is my main point, and I guess it can now be understood.

There is a transmission independent from Scriptures. Words are but words -- useful instruments they are.

Best regards, Carlos.
