Rites and Theosophy

Carl,

Thanks.

My points are, basically:

1) HPB did not create a movement which was ritualistic in any of its instances. It was based on free thinking and individual, inner search, not in the distribution of "degrees" etc for ceremonialism, whose terrible perils she painstakingly described and warned against in several texts and articles (BCW).

2) She wrote long enough describing the specific infiltration of Masonry by 'padris' and Jesuits, secret agents of the Vatican who, by the way, created the "higher degrees" of Masonry (princes and the like).

3) HPB did have some stronger links with Masonic groups, however, in the first years of the theosophical movement, while in its childhood, in the USA, previous to W. Judge getting things really working in the USA in the 1880s.

I hope this can be understood.

The theosophical movement is not ritualistic and this is for strong reasons.

Regards, Carlos.
