Greetings Christina,

We have to be careful when we talk about sex and Theosophy. I can  
tell you my opinion on the subject. The only union that is spiritual  
is the merging of our lower nature with our spiritual EGO. This  
marriage has been mentioned in ancient legends, myths, and it is as  
valid today as in the past. To me the best example of the legend is  
portrayed in Wagner's opera Lohengrin.

Now, can human love help this union? My opinion is Yes, it can, but  
it requires certain dedication from us toward our spiritual nature.  
The human love must be sublimated and raised to the Heart; and kept  
there. Every time that the desire goes down to our lower nature it  
must be raised back to the Heart. Any failure to do this represents  
that the act ceases to be spiritual and becomes an act of black magic.

My opinion on this matter is that a certain type of contact with our  
spiritual EGO is necessary before it can be successfully done.
