Gandhi and Besant

Friends,

I quoted:

"Gandhiji was very clear that the real meaning of our epics,
Ramayana and Mahabharata can be found only when we see them as
allegories representing the battle of the good and evil within
our own hearts -- each heart represents the Kurushektra, he said."

Then Konstantin wrote:

"Yet he would probably nor ever took seriously these epics, neither
knew such a meaning, if Annie Besant did not promote them when he
happened to be in London. (See her comments to Bhagavad-Gita).
Though it would sound incredible, but while living in India before he
 didn't know all that.?"

To this, I add:

Gandhi preserved his personal respect for Annie Besant, and he wrote she was misled and used by C. W. Leadbeater.
