I left it all behind at 15, but still have the emotional backwash when I remember the moral injustices perpetrated on innocent children. At least it gave me a grounding in sado-masochistic behaviour and an abhorrence to authority figures.

Dear Cass
Phew...given the very liberal use of the cane, leather strap, shoe,
wooden backing of the blackboard duster, ruler, smoking pipe and hard
cover books to strike us with at school, like you, give me scrunched
up pages of my worthless assignment any day!...any day!

Did you recover?

All the best
