White Lotus Day

May 07, 2007 09:08 PM
by M K Ramadoss

Tomorrow, May 8 is celebrated as the White Lotus Day, to commemorate the
passing of HPB. On this day, it is appropriate to remember the contribution
of HPB who was responsible for the modern presentation of Ancient Wisdom.
All of us who are fortunate enough to be exposed to Theosophy should
remember her with gratitude, since Theosophy has shown the way to many of
us and at least I am cognizant of how it has changed my attitude toward
life and our fellow beings. On this day, traditionally in branches there is
a reading of Bhagavat Gita and Light of Asia and poor are fed. It is very
significant that HPB stated her wish that poor be fed. She did not say we
all should be meditating or get involved in psychic endeavors. I thought
that it is appropriate that all of us be reminded of White Lotus Day.
