This, too, was very well said, Adelasie. We are living the future WE created. Our happiness or unhappiness, progress or lack thereof is * our * responsibility, no-one else's nor any organisation's. We are our own Judgement Seat.
Thanks for the insights.

Hello Fellow Students,

The significant differnce between organized religion, such as
Christianity as we know it (which in this sense does not reflect the
teachings of the Master Christ), and Theosophy is self-responsiblity.
The church, in the form of the priest, is the intercessor between
the member of the church and God. The member is relegated to a
secondary position, which necessitates taking his spiritual "food"
from another, one who supposedly "knows" more than he does. The
Theosophist is his own "priest," with the opportunity, and indeed,
the duty, if he is serious, to study and investigate and learn the
truth for himself, rejecting all attempts to persuade him one way or
the other until he feels sure in himself. This is the central issue
of the foundation stones of Karma and Reincarnation. What goes around
comes around. We are each the author of our own fate, individually
and collectively, and we cannot escape the results of our actions.
Nobody can "forgive" us or erase our indebtedness for either positive
or negative payback. We are responsible for ourselves, and this is
the ultimate power of humanity, to know and know we know and think,
speak and act accordingly, conscious of our responsibility.

When this is indoctrinated into one and becomes part of the psyche, it becomes a very scary thing to walk away entirely, especially as one has the fear of hell and satan hanging over every question raised. Like you, it was the hypocricy that finally caused me to walk away, much to my mothers angst and constant prayers for me. Perhaps that is why members need the LCC because they have been psychologically entrapped and are completely oblivious to their enforced mindset.
