Who made the mistakes: Koot Hoomi or Leadbeater?

Who made the mistakes: Koot Hoomi or Leadbeater???
-------------------------------------------------

In 2005 on Theos-Talk, Anand Gholap wrote:

"Mr. Leadbeater was far more advanced and so he
corrected many of the mistakes made by earlier writers."

At that time, I asked Anand if he included Master Koot Hoomi
among the "early writers" who had made mistakes.

Consider the following.

Koot Hoomi in his letters supports the view of
life after death which CONTRADICTS the one put
forth by Leadbeater.

Even a member of the Theosophical Society (Adyar)
has admitted in an Adyar TPH publication that there
are DIFFERENCES between the after death processes as
given in the letters of the Mahatamas and the process
as given later by Leadbeater.

The late Helen V. Zahara observed:

"The ORIGINAL statements in the Theosophical Society regarding the
after death processes were given in Letters of the Mahatmas to A.P.
Sinnett. . . . One must, however, note that a DIFFERENT description
of the after death process appears in some works by theosophical
writers. One such exponent was C.W. Leadbeater. . . . This
[Leadbeater's version] would seem to be at VARIANCE with the original
teaching [of the Mahatmas]." CAPS added.

So who made the MISTAKES??? Koot Hoomi or Leadbeater?

Again in THE SECRET DOCTRINE, we find that H.P. Blavatsky and the
Master Koot Hoomi CORRECTED the "erroneous notion" promoted by
A.P. Sinnett that Mercury and Mars belong to the earth chain of
globes.

See: http://blavatskyarchives.com/moderntheosophy.htm#2

This is confirmed in the following from HPB and Master Koot Hoomi:

------------------------------------

When the present work [THE SECRET DOCTRINE] was commenced, the
writer, feeling sure that the speculation about Mars and Mercury was
a mistake, applied to the Teachers by letter for explanation and an
authoritative version. Both came in due time, and verbatim extracts
from these are now given....Again, here are more extracts from
another letter written by the same authority. This time it is in
answer to some objections laid before the Teachers. --- H.P.
Blavatsky referring to letters of Koot Hoomi given in THE SECRET
DOCTRINE.

-------------------------------------

I have also noted, your thoughts about the "Secret Doctrine". Be
assured that what she has not annotated from scientific and other
works, we have given or suggested to her. Every mistake or erroneous
notion, corrected and explained by her from the works of other
theosophists was corrected by me, or under my instruction. It is a
more valuable work than its predecessor [Isis], an epitome of occult
truths that will make it a source of information and instruction for
the earnest student for long years to come. --- Master K.H. writing
in 1888 to Colonel Olcott on H.P. Blavatsky and THE SECRET DOCTRINE

----------------------------------------

...The Secret Dcotrine when ready, will be the triple production
of M, Upasika [H.P.B.] and the Doctor's most humble servant. ---
Master K.H.

------------------------------------------------------

...portions of the Secret Doctrine have been copied by the pen
of Upasika into its pages, though without quotation marks,
from my own manuscript.... --- Master K.H.

---------------------------------------------------------

Yet years later, Leadbeater promoted this "erroneous
notion" of Sinnett's about Mars and Mercury.

So who made the MISTAKES??? Koot Hoomi or Leadbeater?

Furthermore, I asked Anand:

"how do you know "Mr. Leadbeater was far more advanced...."?

More advanced than HPB?

Concerning H.P.Blavatsky's special position in relation to the
Masters, the following quotes from letters of the Mahatmas K.H.
and M. indicate her unique status:

"This state of hers is [H.P.B.'s] intimately
connected with her occult training in Tibet,
and due to her being sent out alone into the
world to gradually prepare the way for others.
After nearly a century of fruitless search, our
chiefs had to avail themselves of the only
opportunity to send out a European body. . . . "
The Mahatma Letters, 2nd edition, Letter 26.

". . . we employ agents ? the best available. Of these for the
past thirty years the chief has been the personality known as H.P.B.
to the world (but otherwise to us). Imperfect and very troublesome,
no doubt, she proves to some, nevertheless, there is no likelihood
of our finding a better one for years to come ? and your
theosophists should be made to understand it. Since 1885 I have not
written, nor caused to be written save thro' her agency, direct
and remote, a letter or line to anybody in Europe or America, nor
communicated orally with, or thro' any third party. Theosophists
should learn it. You will understand later the significance of this
declaration so keep it in mind. Her fidelity to our work being
constant, and her sufferings having come upon her thro' it,
neither I nor either of my Brother associates will desert or
supplant her. . . . This you must tell to all: ? With occult
matters she has everything to do. . . . She is our direct
agent. . . . "
Letters from the Masters of Wisdom, Series 1, Letter 19.

And notice what Master Koot Hoomi says about Madame
Blavatsky in 1888:

"With occult matters she has everything to do. . . . She is our
direct agent. . . . "

So I wrote to Anand:

"Yet you tell us that Mr. Leadbeater was far more advanced. How do
you know that?"

I don't believe he ever adequately addressed this question and these
issues.

So I ask Anand again, do you believe that it was Master Koot Hoomi
who made the mistakes on what happens after death and concerning the
relationship of the earth to Mars and Mercury?

And why would Leadbeater years later in book after book promote
teachings CONTRARY to what the Mahatma had taught?

If Anand was writing a book in 2008 telling people about Theosophy,
which teachings (those of the Master) or those of Leadbeater would he
set forth?

These are serious questions to ponder on in 2008.

I hope Anand will be forthright and state his views so that readers
may clearly know his position on these matters.
