Hi Cass,

The synthesis definition comes from the Secret Doctrine, front page.
It is very useful to describe Theosophy to people who never heard of
it. We are living in such a materialistic cycle that we see spiritual
practice as separate from every day. Religion has become something we
practice on certain days or at certain times. The word "religion" has
to do with realizing our connectedness with our spiritual source,
"binding back to God," so to speak. The materialistic construct is
predicated on separateness, this is mine and that is yours, instead
of interdependence and interrelatedness. But theosophists know that
all life is one, that everything is connected to everything, that our
religion is a part of our every breath, as is our philisophy and our
science. In the same sense, Theosophy is all-inclusinve, non-
sectarian.

Make sense?
