Anand,

You write:

------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater very rarely mentioned
Mahatma Letters. They never gave too much emphasis on Mahatma Letters.
One reason for it could be that AB and CWL knew some or all Mahatma
letters were fake.
Here are some possibilities
1) All Mahatma Letters were fake.
2)Some Mahatma Letters were fake.
3) Blavatsky's distorted Masters' thoughts and her own thoughts
entered into letters partially or fully.
4) Possibility 3 happened in case of some or all Mahatma Letters.
------------------------------------------------------------

Well, Anand, aren't there other possibilities that you failed
to list?

For exaple, possibility #5 would be:

All the Mahatma Letters were genuine.

I find it intriguing to try to understand your reasoning and thinking
on all of this.

Anand, please, please correct me if I misstate anything in the
following.

After having studied virtually all the primary sources on Blavatsky
and related persons including Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater, it is
my understanding that it was H.P. Blavatsky who first came on the
public scene in 1874 and declared in the following years that she was
in contact with Adepts and Masters.

As far as I know, Madame Blavatsky was the first person to declare
that the Masters Morya and Koot Hoomi actually existed. She also
declared that she was a disciple of these Masters.

She introduced in the 1870s both Henry Olcott and W.Q. Judge to
Theosophy and the Masters.

Later in India she introduced A.P. Sinnett to Theosophy and the
Masters.

As a result of receiving scores of letters from the Masters Koot
Hoomi and Morya via H.P. Blavatsky --- A.P. Sinnett (again at the
encouragement of Koot Hoomi in these letters) wrote two books THE
OCCULT WORLD and ESOTERIC BUDDHISM.

In these 2 books Sinnett quotes voluminously from these letters that
he said he had received from the Masters KH and M.

A.P. Sinnett's book ESOTERIC BUDDHISM published 1883 was the first
SIMPLE exposition of Theosophy given to the modern world. Sinnett
learned these Theosophical teachings THROUGH these letters from Koot
Hoomi and Morya AND ALSO FROM what Madame Blavatsky orally taught
A.P. Sinnett.

C.W. Leadbeater in England in the early 1880s read these 2 books,
became interested in Theosophy, etc. etc.

Mr. Leadbeater writes that he reread and reread these 2 books. This
is how he was introduced to Theosophy.

Then when H.P. Blavatsky herself came to England in 1884, Mr.
Leadbeater wanted to meet H.P. Blavatsky and then wanted to get in
touch with the Master Koot Hoomi.

IT WAS THROUGH H.P. BLAVATSKY that Mr. Leadbeater tried to gain
contact with the Master KH. It was then again THRU HPB HERSELF that
he received KH's letters.

It was in the late 1880s when Madame Blavatsky came to live in
England that Mrs. Besant read HPB's magnum opus THE SECRET DOCTRINE.
Mrs. Besant was greatly impressed with the teachings contained in the
SD and wanted to go see Madame Blavatsky herself. She sought out HPB
and wanted to become her disciple.

Unless I am missing something here, it was Madame H.P. Blavatsky who
was the first person to talk about these Masters Koot Hoomi and
Morya. She declared herself as giving out the teachings of these two
Masters. It was also thru her that A.P. Sinnett learned of Theosophy
and these Masters. Again it was thru HPB that the correspondence
between Sinnett and the Masters was started. Both C.W. Leadbeater
and Annie Besant were introduced to Theosophy through Madame
Blavatsky, her books and the letters of the Masters as found in
Sinnett's two books.

Yet you Anand, seem to believe that Blavatsky distorted the Masters'
thoughts.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?

Do you have direct access to the Masters' thoughts????

>From 1875 to 1891 HPB wrote and wrote and wrote and gave out what she
claimed were the teachings of the Masters.

>From 1880 to 1885 Masters Morya and Koot Hoomi gave out teachings in
their letters to A.P. Sinnett.

So we see that during the lifetime of HPB and the beginning years of
the Theosophical Society (1875-1891) the two main sources for the
teachings of the Masters were Mme. Blavatsky's writings and the
letters of the Masters to Sinnett.

It is from these 2 primary sources that we can gain an understanding
of what the Masters taught.

What other sources were there?

So Anand, if you are actually contending that Blavatsky distorted the
Masters' thoughts and teachings, then please tell me and the rest of
the readers at Theos-Talk how you know what the REAL teachings of the
Masters are?????

How did you gain a knowledge of what the real teachings of the
Masters are and how do you know that Blavatsky distorted the Masters'
thoughts and teachings???

What is your REASONING and THINKING which lead to this conclusion of
yours???

I would really like to know.....

Daniel
