Internet's help for historians in the future

One of the problems Historians face with all organizations is access to
historical documents needed to learn the details of past events. With
Internet, it is going to be easier for Historians to get at the needed
information.

The maillists, chats, blogs etc provide contemporaneous accounts of good and
bad deeds that go on within the organizations and these are archived almost
for ever. In addition, due to the free-for- all nature of Internet,
especially the unmoderated forums, all attempts to restrict disclosure using
such tactics as claim of copyright etc are no longer going to work.

What the above points out is that all of us who have organizations close to
our hearts, should actively participate in the maillists, chats, blogs etc.
so that the resulting transparency will prevent the machinations of the
leaders from harming the organizations and the constituent members.
Intentions may be good, but actions may be misdirected because of pride and
egoism.

So let us all get busy and be active in the Internet forums.
