NO MEMBERSHIP GROWTH IN USA IN 95 YEARS

NO MEMBERSHIP GROWTH IN USA IN 95 YEARS

Recently I saw TS membership history in the USA. In 1905, the membership was
2,637 and it grew to 4,145 in 1913. The membership in 2008 was 3,899. Thus
current membership is about the same as it was in 1913. No growth in 95
years, almost a Century. Not a pretty picture.

While the population in 1913 was 97,225,000 and current estimate is
305,800,400, a growth of 3.14 times. If the membership has kept up with the
growth of population, then we should have 13,000 members today in the USA.

It is a shocking and pitiful state of affairs. It points out that all the
hard work of the leaders in the USA is not working at all. Due to the
autonomous nature of the Sections, it is a local problem which only leaders
in this country can address and fix. We all know what has been going on in
the International Scene since last December.

I hope and pray that the GC members who want to disenfranchise all of us,
tinker with International Rules to seize control of the presidency and make
the president a puppet, fix the serious membership problem in their backyard
first.
