That's why Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than  
knowledge."  And, why he used "mind experiments" to prove to himself  
that relativity was a fact of nature, and that energy was equivalent  
to mass, modified by the speed of light (which incidentally is  
exactly what HPB said in the Secret Doctrine).  See: http://

Therefore, genuine knowledge is what one can prove for oneself  
through such mind experiments.  (And, there's nothing wrong with  
starting from 'revealed information" -- such as the Secret doctrine. ;-)
