Govert,

to my humble understanding: NO.
They had no own knowledge of it, only book-knowledge.
And they went into the traps, HPB laid out, to mark the pseudo-theosophists, 
who pose as teachers, whereas they are in reality only chelas.
If I remembeer right, there is also information by Mr. Fussell, secretary to 
Katherine Tingley, on the 4th sub-race quarrel, in one of the Point Loma 
E.S. circulars.
But de Purucker in his "Studies" and his "Fundamentals" (commentary on "The 
Secret Doctrine") gives enough information for those, who seek the truth and 
are not merely party-liners.
