Please explain better, where do you see the contradiction?
As far I know, all theosophical writers, both earlier and later, agree 
on this. You may also refer the book by Chatterji & Holloway
"Man: Fragments of a forgotten history" which was published even 
earlier than the "Secret Doctrine".
