My readings says that the following are more close to the truth than the many Christian versions:

There was no person named "Jesus" living as pictured by the Gospels at the time of Pilate.
There was a person named Jehoshua Pandira or similar, who lived around 100 B.C. and who was born in Lydda and not Jerusalem. And his life was entirely different than the one pictured in the Gospels, and he was only overshadowed by Christ/Maitreya to a certain extend. But he did many great deeds. It is his life the four inaccurate (in 325 AD. politically chosen) gospels in the Bible are based upon. And he was only an initiated as mentioned by Islam and in no manner a "God in the flesh" as the so-called Christian Priests by mere vote decided as a dogma in 325 AD.

These are theosophical teachings as given by H. P. Blavatsky. And I follow their views.

According to Gospels Jesus existed physically, and not in allegory. So I am saying "If somebody is saying that Jesus did not exist physically". I am talking here about physical existence of Jesus and not the accuracy of the account of what happened that time.
It is a good example of how the same sentence can be interpreted in different ways, giving rise to different meanings.
