A Challenge to Historians, writers, journalists

The 2008 election of the International President is nothing like any of the
previous ones in the 133 history of the TS in the damage it has caused to TS
and many of the members. Members in future would be amazed at the events,
which would read like a fiction.

First time we had a non candidate candidate. First time we saw the sudden
allegation of the health of the sitting President. Open electioneering
continued. After the election, allegations continued about the voting in
Indian Section, the largest Section. Suddenly the rules and regulations
became the focus for hair splitters, when members were never affected by
them. Then came the atom bomb. Attempted coup by disenfranchisement of
members. Then came the contentious GC meeting where most of the voting was
sharply divided. Possibly more is going on behind the scenes and keep tuned.

All that happened do not seem to be spur of the moment type. It looks like
what we have seen is the tip of the iceberg of very smart strategic planning
and we do not yet know the full details. Probably, there were plans A, B, C,
and so on.

It looks like there is a once in a life time opportunity for a TS historian
to research and publish a full account of the saga, which I suspect still
continues in the background. Such a history is easy to write in the Internet
days. Access to the emails of the players will make it easy to reconstruct
the historical details. Full account, when it is written would likely be
more interesting than a mystery novel.

Any writers, historians, journalists ready for the challenge?
