Re: Theos-World Adyar Estate

I disagree that it is a spiritual centre - no more than any lodge is a spiritual centre. There are no protecting angels in theosophy. India was chosen because it still maintained some links with the ancient teachings. In the end HPB felt no attachment to Adyar - I see it as a monument, a beautiful one at that, but still a monument. A central base for all societies - to turn it into a vatican city imo is to invite disaster. When I heard that it hadÂaltars to all religious denominations I nearly fell off my chair -Âwhat are we trying to do mimic the United Church into the United Church of Theosophy?

Until Theosophy can present a unified teaching it is not worth preserving for heritage and, Adyar, as it stands mocks the masters teachings. HPB has fulfilled her role, theosophy has reached those and will continue to reach those that are ready whether Adyar remains or not.

Cheers Cass

>Yes, one of the aspects of the problem is accountability. But there is much more in stake. Adyar Estate is certainly, besides and because being the Headquarters of the Theosophical Society and therefore a spiritual center, a monument of cultural but also natural heritage. Therefore the TS Administration has an obligation not only towards the members of the TS but also towards all the humanity to preserve this heritage for future generations - what already indicates how the problem should be approached.

You can see that Jinarajadasa' s paper was in fact fulfillment of his obligation to provide this information as certain lodge raised such question.

We can see that various Sections are now making some humble but concrete steps to meet this need. On the other hand we don't see any progress from the part of the TS Headquarters. There are present only efforts of individual TS members, as Keith, Ramadoss, Erica, Pedro, William, Ãâ to provide us insights on the situation but any step from the part of the President and its administration to open some official public line of communication. The very fact that theos_talk represents practically the only forum for discussion on these issues confirms mentioned state of affairs.

Therefore, I now thought that publication of old Jinarajadasa' s document I had in my archive could represent good starting point for further collection of data on the TS Headquarters and its management.
