Just a little note for your comment about Dark Forces being the reason for all the commotion in the TS today....In the Valley of Fools a wise person is always considered to be a protagonist of the Dark Forces...

How about talking about this organization called the Planetary Union which has taken over -- virtually -- the entire TS in Brazil? The TS in Brazil in fact functions only on paper, since it is manipulated largely by Ulisses de Resende, the Chairman or President of the Planetary Union. You might also want to consider the fact that Marcos de Resende is one of the many sons of Ulysses and Marcos is the current GS of the Brazilian Section. Have you ever visited the Planetary Union page? You will find that one of the Council members of the GC of the TS, Mr Ricardo Lindemann, also figures in the Committee of the PU....In fact, if you have been at the TS Conventions for the past three or four years, you would know that the Planetary Union have been misusing their privilege to live on Campus at Adyar during the Conventions in order for them to canvass for the PU and to recruit members of the TS for the PU. How would you then explain the Freedom of the Society
 resolution which is violated by the members of both the PU and the TS in Brazil, and since the President of the TS gives these members permission to stay on campus at Adyar, so the President of the TS, which is Mrs Radha Burnier, also violates that Resolution?

It is not such an easy matter to think of where the future of the TS will lie, MKR. There are many points to be considered, the most important of which is the Spiritual or Esoteric aspect.

And of course, now that you have given me the opportunity to say so, might I also add, it so happens that the Vice President, Mrs Linda Oliveira, is Australian and her husband, Mr Pedro Oliveira, is Brazilian. Can it be another ploy by the current VP and her husband to retain power in the TS? After all, we do know -- despite all denials by Keith Fisher -- that Mrs Linda Oliveira does not mind serving a corrupt President, and bending a few rules in order to become VP of the TS.

      Background to âManorâ and future role of Rio de Janeiro



The âManorâ center in Sydney, Australia is the only theosophical center in

the southern hemisphere of the world. According to published information,

before Sydney was selected for the southern center, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

was also considered and it was expected that Rio will play an important part

in the future. More on this later.



When Manor center was started, it was met with a lot of difficulty and

opposition from the Brothers of Shadow because there was remaining of the

old Lemurian influence to furnish suitable material for the unscrupulous. Of

course trouble was created through members of the TS.



It is obvious that we see continuous opposition from the dark forces since

the founding of the TS. We have no reason to doubt they are not behind the

events that TS has seen from the start of the nomination process for

election of the International President to the current condition of cleavage

among the leaders world-wide who are supposed to work for unity which is the

keyword of real theosophists.



Perhaps the Dugpas and the Lemurian influence have succeeded in joining

hands and in one sweep were able to muster whole bunch of leaders to do

their work; of course the leaders may not be conscious of their being used.



The fact that Rio was also considered for the center before Sydney was

selected, points to the important role it will play in the future. Recent

increased theosophical activities in Brazil may be the beginning of the

increased role Brazil is going to play. The opposition to the activities

from some leaders from other countries sounds familiar to anyone who has

followed the history of TS. At every step of any good that TS and its

members try to do to help the humanity, you immediately see the opposition

from the dark forces. Once we are conscious of this fact, it would be very

easy for any theosophist to decide which side they should be on.



I hope the above should give a better perspective of what is going on in

Brazil and why all theosophist should support it.
