Many of us here recall how this maillist helped to bring out true facts
about the Boston litigation when lot of unfounded rumors were being
circulated presenting Boston lodge in a very unfavorable light to
theosophists around the world. The discussions can still be accessed today
in the archives of theos-talk.

Before the advent of Internet, all organizations, including TS, had the
luxury of controlling the communication with members. With the accumulation
of assets, one thing has become obvious - there is an inverse relationship
between assets and growth of theosophy and distribution of its message. Look
at how the Founders were penniless and poor and built the organization just
on their sweat and self confidence in their mission.

Internet is really the saviour of theosophy and TS (in the opinion of many
members, it saved TS from the worst crisis it faced since CWL issue - it
played a very critical role in the last election and also in broadcasting
the ultra secret attempt to disenfranchise members world-wide) in that the
power of distribution of information has shifted from the organization to
the enterprising individuals, which is obviously the best thing that has
happened especially when the fact is individuals are always behind great
changes and movements in the world.

So all that is left for organizations is to take swipes at the enterprising
individuals who may be asking very inconvenient questions in public forums.
